Taito Rotate Wrapper Pack 1.1 By HowardC
==============================

Change Log
===========
1.1
Added Gigawing Generations  (oops!)
Fixed cfg file for Raiden III.

THESE WRAPPERS WILL NOT RUN UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE A PROPER SETUP!!!!

...

Setup:
=======================
Step 0. Make sure you have the typeX loaders installed in for all the games and that they launch the games properly.

Step 1. Download and Install IRotate from here: http://www.entechtaiwan.com/files/irotate.exe Install it to the default directory if possible ("c:\program files(x86)\irotate\")

Step 2. Test irotate and make sure it can rotate your desktop. If it can't then these wrappers won't work... sorry. :(

Step 3. If you have your Taito Type X games arranged in folders all inside a master folder
(As in you have a folder called "Taito" with The Raided III files and the game.exe installed in a "Raiden III" folder inside the taito folder)
Proceed to Step 3, otherwise look at the bottom of this document for instructions on how to change the cfg files.

Step 4. Take the DXWND and BES folders in this pack and move them to your taito folder (or whatever you've named it.)

Step 5. Take the exes for each game as well as the optional artwork and move them to the appropriate sub-folders.

Step 6. Enjoy! Please note though that raiden IV tends to lock up. Some say the monkeying with the compatability settings on the game.exe helps, but for me it doesn't.

Understanding the CFG files (possibly optional)
================================================

A typical cfg file looks like this:

500
C:\Program Files (x86)\iRotate\
..\DXWnd\
game.exe
BASE
HOMURA for TypeX
..\BES\
bes.exe "%curdir%game.exe" 75 --minimize

The first line is the delay, in ms, from when the game window actually pops up to when the wrapper will position it and remove the border.
This setting sometimes needs to be adjusted to get the backdrop working properly and to keep the game from locking up.

The second line is the path to irotate. If you are on a 64bit os and installed it to the default folder then it should already be set properly, but you may need to change this.

The third line is the name of the game exe. Thus far it is always game.exe for the vertical games.

The next line is the path to DXWND. Note the "..\" that's a special key that tells the app it's one folder out from the current folder. So if the wrapper is in the "C:\taito\raiden III\"
folder, the app is going to back out one folder and look in "c:\taito\dxwnd\" for dxwnd. If you don't get it that's ok because you can use a full path as well.

The next two lines are the class name and window caption of the game we are trying to hook. This is different for each game and this is why I realeased a whole pack.

The next two lines are optional. They are the path and command line for the slowdown app. I've included BES because it seems to play nice with the typex_loader, but you could use any.

Troubleshooting/Known Issues:
=============
Q: I click on the EXE but nothing happens.
A: The exe automatically exits if something is missing. Check to ensure the two helper apps are in the proper folders. Check to make sure you have a cfg file and the loader.exe.
   Check to make sure the cfg file actually points to the helper exes' folders.

Q: The game doesn't launch in focus, the backdrop is behind some windows, ect...
A: I am doing a lot of hackery to get all the ducks in a row here and thus sometimes things happen. You can always back out of a launch with your exit key defined for the game,
   even if the game isn't visible. Usually launching the game again fixes the issue. If not simply adjust the number at the top of the cfg file for the game.

Q: Homura or Shikigami III are running choppy and/or they are running too slow/fast.
A: These games are using the BES slowdown app to keep them in sync. I have the values tuned to my system. You may need to adjust them or remove the last two lines completely, depending upon your setup.

Q: How do I switch bezels?
A: The loader looks for a bezel named after the current aspect ratio (bg169.jpg, bg43.jpg or bg1610.jpg) or simply "bg.jpg" to turn off the default bezels simply rename them.
   To use a different bezel (some games have a few) simply rename them.

Q: Raiden IV keeps crashing
A: Yup. The game barely runs. Sometimes, and I mean sometimes you can get it to run by righ clicking on the game.exe and setting 256 color mode or 640x480 mode.
   But even then it rarely launches via the wrapper.

The wrappers are by me.
The typex_loader dxwnd and bes are by their respective authors.
The raiden III/IV artwork was taken from Mr Do's artwork page.
The other artwork was taken from screen grabs of console ports of these games and reworked by myself.
